Add Watermark overlays your text diagonally across every page of a document — a DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL label, or a recipient's name so you can tell which copy of a document leaked.
Opacity is adjustable, which is the setting that matters: high enough to be unmistakable, low enough that the text underneath stays readable. Around 30% works for most documents. The watermark is drawn at 45 degrees across the page, making it awkward to crop out without destroying the content too.
How to use Add watermark
- Choose the PDF you want to watermark.
- Enter your watermark text.
- Adjust the opacity until the mark reads clearly without hiding the content.
- Apply it to every page and download the result.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use an image or logo as the watermark?
Not in this tool — it stamps text. To place a logo on a page, use Edit PDF and add it as an image.
Can the watermark be removed?
It becomes part of the page content, so it cannot simply be toggled off. It is a deterrent, not encryption — keep the unwatermarked original for your own use.
