About PDF Translation
PDF Translation extracts the text from a document and translates it with an AI model into the language you pick. It handles prose well — reports, correspondence, articles — and gives you translated text you can read, copy or save.
As with the summarizer, this runs against your own API key and the provider you choose. The extracted text is sent there to be translated, nothing goes anywhere else, and the PDF file itself is never uploaded.
Layout is not preserved: you get translated text, not a rebuilt PDF that mirrors the original design.
How to use PDF Translation
- Configure your AI provider and API key in AI settings.
- Select the PDF you want translated.
- Choose the target language.
- Run the translation and review the output.
Frequently asked questions
Do I get a translated PDF back?
You get translated text rather than a reconstructed PDF. The original layout, fonts and images are not rebuilt around the new text.
How accurate is it?
It depends on the model you choose and the material. General prose translates well; legal, medical and technical documents deserve review by someone who reads both languages.
